When will my Trash/Recycling be picked up?

Trash is picked up weekly. Recycling is picked up every other week. If a town holiday is the same day as your pickup day, the collections will be made on the next business day. If there are two town holidays in a row, then the collections for the first day are done on the business day before the first holiday.

During snowstorms, do not put your bins out before the streets are plowed. During extreme weather events, see the East Lyme Public Safety Facebook page or eltownhall.com for further information. For issues with trash or recycling collection, please submit a report using the Notify Us resident report page.

Find your Pickup Day of Week and Recycling Pickup Week by entering your street name. If your street’s Recycling Week shows both Shaded and Unshaded, use the map found in the Downloads section below to determine if you live in the shaded or unshaded portion of the street.
