COVID-19 UPDATED RESPONSE AS OF MARCH 20, 2020

In response to the COVID-19 Virus health emergency, the Town of East Lyme has closed it’s Town Hall to the public until further notice.

Permitting, Special Permits, and Questions

Please call in advance of coming to the Town Hall for information on your specific situation.  Limited staff are in the building at this time but that may not be the case after today.  We recommend email, however feel free to call, (860) 691-4114 or email as follows:

Permits, plans and payments can be placed in the outside Maroon dropbox near the front entrance to the building (Pennsylvania Avenue).  It is strongly encouraged that applications be scanned to pdf, and attached as an email to staff for expedited service.

This box will be checked once or twice per day. Please call ahead for arrangements if you have larger plan sets to deliver.

We will no longer accept cash. Check or Money Order only will be accepted, made payable to the Town of East Lyme.

Forms are available either through email with Town Staff or below. If you cannot find something, please let us know.

Opening a new business in East Lyme or Niantic, in your home or renting a commercial location? You will need to satisfy the Town’s local ordinance for business registration by filling out and filing a New Business Registration form with the Zoning Department, located within the Land Use offices at the Town Hall, 108 Pennsylvania Ave. Niantic, CT 06357.
