Parks Foreman- Turf Specialist
Organizes and supervises the day-to-day activities of the Parks maintenance crew. The position requires independent judgment, initiative, maturity, observation, leadership, strong communication and interpersonal skills, accuracy and planning ability. Regular duties of the Parks maintenance crew involve care, maintenance and construction of Town parks, recreational areas, facilities and public grounds. The Parks Foreman/Turf Specialist position actively participates in completing work in addition to supervising others performing the same work. Land Use Administrative Assistant
The Land Use Administrative Assistant Performs professional services in all functional areas of municipal land use, including Zoning Department, Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Aquifer Protection, Planning Department, Planning Commission, Inland Wetlands Agent/Department, Inland Wetlands Agency, Building and administrative support services to Ledge Light Health Department.
Assumes administrative responsibility of the Land Use Office intake of various permit applications, scheduling inspections, purchase orders and routing of incoming customers and telephone calls. Please see the job description and employment application in the Downloads section below.

Part-Time Firefighters
This is highly responsible, skilled work, performing firefighting duties including, but not limited to, extinguishing and preventing fires; protecting life and property in emergency situations; and operating equipment. Work also involves performing rescue operations and rendering emergency medical assistance in response to fire calls, accidents, emergencies and/or community disasters. Additionally, work involves performing skilled repair and preventative maintenance work on fire apparatus, equipment, alarm systems, and buildings, and the completion of administrative tasks. Performs professional services in all functional areas of municipal planning, including public improvements, economic development, housing, demographics, natural resources, land conservation, the review of site plans, subdivision plans and other related materials, administrative, and enforcement duties related to the conservation and use of land, wetlands and water bodies. Part-Time Assistant Building Official
The Town of East Lyme is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Building Official for its Building Department. Responsible for code enforcement and inspection work involving the review of site and construction plans for new buildings and the examination of buildings in the process of construction, renovation or repair to assure conformance with applicable government building codes, standards and construction specifications. Ensures that potentially dangerous conditions resulting from the use of faulty materials or poor workmanship during the construction, renovation or repair of new and existing building structures does not put the public at risk.
