ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER
An opening exists in the Town of East Lyme Police Department for the position of Animal Control Officer. This position enforces licensing and animal laws; receive calls, investigate, capture, impound and care for animals; maintain the animal shelter, prepare reports, and other related duties. This position requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and at least 2 years paid experience in handling animals. HIGHWAY MAINTAINER III

WATER DEPARTMENT – SEASONAL EMPLOYEE
The East Lyme Water Department is looking for a seasonal employee to assist the Department with various laboring tasks including but not limited to cleaning and painting fire hydrants, trimming and landscaping around pump stations and any other tasks as needed. We are looking for someone that is a hard worker, at least 18 years of age, prior use of landscaping equipment preferred and needs to be available until late September/early October. We are offering $13/hr for this position. ASSISTANT UTILITY ENGINEER
The Town of East Lyme, a shoreline community of 19,000 in Southeastern Connecticut, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Utility Engineer in their Water & Sewer Department. This position would be responsible for oversight and coordination of water and wastewater improvement and rehabilitation projects as well as assisting the Utility Engineer with day to day operational matters. The candidate should have working knowledge of design, methods, practices, equipment and materials used in water and wastewater systems. A Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Connecticut is preferred. A minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible experience in water and sewer engineering is required. The position reports directly to the Utility Engineer. The first major task is to develop and implement a meter replacement program for the Town of East Lyme; including drafting regulation changes, overseeing funding, developing plans and specifications, bidding, project oversight, and inspection. Salary $80,000 to $90,000 dependent on qualifications with excellent benefits. Additionally, the opportunity exists for future growth in the Department with this position.
