INTERNAL POSTING FOR SEWER MAINTAINER 5 POSITION
The Town is looking to fill an opening in the Town of East Lyme Sewer Department for the position of Sewer Maintainer/Station Operator V.

A copy of the job description is attached for your reference. A CDL is required for this position, Class A license and a tanker endorsement preferred. Additionally, a State of CT Sewer Collection 1 is required within a year of hire, Collection 2 preferred.
This is a Grade VI position. Pursuant to Section 6.4 of the Union contract, the minimum rate of pay of the person assigned to this job would be at the first step in the Grade VI range ($25.75/hr) or 5% greater than their current rate of pay, whichever is higher. ASSESSMENT TECHNICIAN ASSESSOR’S OFFICE: The Assessment Technician provides technical and special administrative assistance under the general supervision of the Assessor/Assistant Assessor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: processing property information related to real estate, personal property and motor vehicle accounts; preparing and entering information into appropriate databases; data collecting and field work; and assisting members of the public in filing for exemption and tax credit programs.
The applicants are required to have a High School Diploma and three years of progressive responsible experience in assessment, real estate, or business or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the desired knowledge base. The candidate should have proven customer service skills and the ability to work independently and use judgement as required.
This position is a Full-Time Hourly Union position. Applicants may be required to pass a physical exam, drug/alcohol screening, credit check, and a criminal background check. A valid Connecticut Driver’s License is required.

Performs general work in the construction, installation, repair and maintenance of roads, and bridges, and performs relief work in the removal of refuse and collection of garbage & recyclables.
