  • Recycling Codes #1 through #5 have always been accepted. #1 and #2 are the most common and most valuable.
  • Not smaller than a yogurt cup. Size is important!
  • Clean Aluminum Foil
  • Clean (not shredded) paper and cardboard
  • What Goes Where?

Unacceptable – Place in your trash bin

  • No food, No grease, No residue of any kind. Cleanliness is important!
  • Nothing smaller than a yogurt cup. Size is important!
  • No plastic bags of any kind. Paper bags are OK if clean and empty.
  • No foil wrapping paper. Clean Aluminum Foil goes in the Recycling Bin.
  • No multi-ply flexible containers – Nothing made of more than one kind of material or recycling code.
  • No Styrofoam
  • No Recycling Code 9 (ABS) or PA (POLYAMIDE). Place in your trash bin.
  • No flourescent or LED bulbs. Take to Transfer Station.

Too Small – Place in your trash bin

  • Soda bottle lids not on bottle
  • Plastic Single shot liqueur bottle
  • Glass single shot liquor bottle
  • Plastic Bread ties or plastic clip
  • Small medication bottles
  • Medication bottle caps

Jams up the sorting machine – Place in your trash bin

  • Plastic bags of any kind
  • Plastic Silverware
  • Coat Hangers. No wire.
  • No shredded paper
  • Dog / Cat food bag (Plastic & Paper Combo bag)
  • Plastic bags of any kind (again)
    • No ZipLock bags
    • No garbage bags
    • No recycling in a garbage bag
    • No plastic shopping bags
