East Lyme Parks and Recreation is offering the following cooking programs, please visit our RecDesk online registration to enroll!

Adult Cooking Class with Jenny B. Cooks – Asian & Mediterranean Inspired Power Rice Bowl (4 to 6 Servings)
Each class, we will cook a power rice bowl with a different type of protein, rice, vegetables and flavor profile!  You will learn how to make a sauce or season the rice to complement each power bowl too!  Once you learn how to cook healthy and delicious power bowls, this method of cooking, will easily become a part of your weeknight cooking rotation.  Prior to each class, you will receive an email with the zoom link as well as a prep packet listing the ingredients, equipment and recipe.

Kids Baking Class with Jenny B. Cooks – Sweet Treats Series inspired by Girl Scout Cookie Flavors!
Each week, we will bake a sweet treat inspired by a Girl Scout cookie flavor – Mint Chocolate, S’mores, Lemon, & Caramel, Chocolate & Coconut. Students will gain several baking skills such as how to follow a recipe, measuring ingredients, how to glaze, and the muffin method of baking! The first class is a one hour, in-person, session at East Lyme Youth Services for a watch and learn demo about baking and kitchen safety.  The remaining classes are virtual, via Zoom, so that you can bake in your own kitchen.  Prior to each class, you will receive an email with the zoom link as well as a prep packet listing the ingredients, equipment and recipe.  During the zoom classes, parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to be nearby and/or help as we will be using the oven and stove for these classes.

Kids Cooking Class with Jenny B. Cooks – Lots of Cheese, Please Series!
Each week, we will cook a cheese focused dish and it will be Cooks Choice for complimentary sides or toppings!  Students will gain several cooking skills such as how to follow a recipe, measure ingredients, how to make a cheese sauce, and chop/cook vegetables!  The first class is a one hour, in-person, session at East Lyme Youth Services for a watch and learn demo about cooking and kitchen safety.  The remaining classes are virtual, via Zoom, so that you can cook in your own kitchen.  Prior to each class, you will receive an email with the zoom link as well as a prep packet listing the ingredients, equipment and recipe. During the zoom classes, parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to be nearby and/or help as we will be using the oven, stove and knives for these classes.
