Harvesting oysters, clams, mussels, and scallops has long been a tradition in our town, dating back to the Nehantic Indians. Being a community by the sea, its bounties continue to nourish us.

Within our town, is the East Lyme Shellfish Commission. Their charge is to help manage our valuable shell fishing areas. All the rules and regulations can be found on our town website.

If you have any question, please call the Shellfish hotline-860-739-6233.
