Upcoming Road Sealing Work – A Message From Your Public Works Dept.

MESSAGE FROM YOUR PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

The Public Works Department will be starting chip sealing on the following roads in Town starting this Thursday, July 8th.  The roads in the order that they will be done include:

Salem Turnpike

Beaver Brook Rd

Whistletown Rd

Upper Pattagansett Rd

Scott Rd

North Bride Brook Rd

Woodrow Drive

The work should take about 4 days to complete.  A week after the chip seal treatment has been done, the contractor will return to sweep up all the excess the chips and will cover it with a thin sealant to finish the job.  Once the sealant has been installed, the Town will have a separate contractor come in and respray the double yellow lines that were in place before the work started.  The contractor that will be performing the chip sealing work is The Gorman Group out of Albany New York.  If any residents have any questions with regards to this work, please call the Department at 860-691-4118.
