Smith-Harris House & Barn
Saturday, June 18, 1 pm to 3 pm
$15 per person
The Smith-Harris House collaborates with the Avery-Copp House in Groton to feature textile conservator Susan J. Jerome! Ms. Jerome will begin with an illustrated lecture about the history of handmade lace and the development of the machine-made lace industry. Then she will share how to properly care for and store your own heirloom lace. Each person is welcome to bring one item from home to learn about its age and origin. Cost of the program also includes an optional tour of the Smith-Harris House, a free voucher to visit the Avery-Copp House later in the summer, and light refreshments. This program is funded in part with a grant from Chelsea Groton Foundation.
