Subdivision Regulations

As the Planning Commission has regulatory jurisdiction over the subdivision of land, the regulations are intended to promote and ensure the orderly development of land within the town in order that the land, when subdivided, can be used for building purposes without danger to health, safety or degradation of the environment.

The regulations generally specify street or road design standards and required open space dedication. Subdivision is defined as the division of a tract or parcel of land into three (3) or more lots subsequent to the adoption of Subdivision Regulations by the Commission (September 9, 1952).
